    Prime Minister Beata Szydło began her visit to China with meetings with Chairman Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang. Talks focused on making use of opportunities brought to Poland and China by the „One Belt, One Road” initiative.

    Meetings with Chairman Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang  were the first points of the visit to China, that centered upon the Belt and Road Forum (14-15 May) – gathering of the representatives of states interested in the “Belt and Road” initiative proposed by Xi Jinping. Talks focused mainly on Polish-Chinese cooperation within the „One Belt, One Road” project, that Polish sides views with openness and has high expectations of. Poland also notice stabilizing role that „One Belt, One Road” can play in Eurasia.

     

    Both meetings reflect regularity of highest level contacts between Poland and China. They constitute the next step, after President Andrzej Duda visit to China in November 2015 and Chairman Xi Jinping visit to Poland in June 2016, in building friendly and mutually beneficial relations between both countries.

     

    In presence of prime ministers, Polish-Chinese agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as memorandum of understanding on water management have been signed. Both documents allow for further intensification of bilateral cooperation in the abovementioned areas.
