    Prime Minister Beata Szydło attended the Belt and Road Forum that took place in Beijing on 14-15 May 2017. Besides Polish Prime Minister, over 30 heads of state, government and international organizations took part in the Forum.

    The Belt and Road Forum brought representatives of over 130 countries and international organizations interested in taking part in the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (Belt and Road) initiatives proposed by the Chairman Xi Jinping. The most important part of the program was the Leaders’ Roundtable, in which over 30 heads of state, government and international organizations took part. Prime Minister Beata Szydło took the floor during sessions devoted to development policies synergies and connectivity cooperation. Poland was one of the six European Union member countries represented at such a high level.

     

    On the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum Prime Minister Beata Szydło met with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. Jargaltulgyn Erdenebat, and State Counsellor of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Madame Aung San Suu Kyi.
